One person is dead and another hospitalized after a shootout on Del Paso Boulevard Tuesday night.
Sacramento Police Department officers responded to the area around Del Paso Boulevard and Oxford Street at 11:13 p.m. Tuesday to find a man with multiple gunshot wounds, according to an SPD media release. They performed CPR before handing him over the Sacramento Fire Department personnel, but the man died at the scene.
Another man with a single gunshot wound was found two blocks away near Del Paso Boulevard's intersection with Winnipeg Street. Lifesaving measures were successful in his case, and he was in stable condition in an area hospital as of Wednesday morning.
Police believe the shootout is tied to an armed robbery on the 1800 block of Del Paso Boulevard, though they did not specify which man is suspected of instigating the crime. The victim's identity has yet to be publicly released.
