A motorcyclist was killed Thursday morning on Madison Avenue west of Lincoln Oaks Road when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a tree.
The man, who has not yet been publicly identified, was riding his Yamaha motorcycle westbound about 11:40 a.m. when he lost control for an unknown reason.
The motorcycle left the road and hit a tree, sending him flying off the seat, according to a California Highway Patrol news release. The man was taken to a local hospital, where he died.
Unsafe speed is suspected to be a factor in the condition, and the involvement of alcohol or other drugs has not yet been determined.
