A cyclist died Saturday night after being hit by a car on Arden Way, according to police.
At 7 p.m. that night, the man was riding northbound near the 100 block of Arden Way when he was hit by a driver traveling westbound, Sgt. Vance Chandler said, a police spokesman.
911 calls reported an unresponsive man lying in the roadway, Chandler said. Fire personnel pronounced the cyclist dead at the scene.
The driver initially fled the scene but later called police to tell them he was involved in the collision.
There was no indication the driver was impaired or intoxicated, Chandler said. He was cooperative with the investigation.
