Several streets in downtown Davis are blocked off while authorities investigate a suspicious package left at the city's Amtrak station.
A large suitcase was found around 10 a.m. Wednesday, Lt. Paul Doroshov of the Davis Police Department said. Second Street's intersection with G and H streets remained behind yellow tape as of 11 a.m., with no estimated time of clearance.
Police have evidence to believe someone left the luggage there and walked away several days ago, Doroshov said.
The Amtrak station remains blocked off as well, delaying both incoming and outgoing trains, including Capitol Corridor trains 535 and 528. Davis Fire Department and Yolo County Bomb Squad personnel were both dispatched to the scene.

Police also swarmed to Davis' Amtrak station in late March when a box held together with terrycloth was found on a nearby patio. The package was later determined to contain old textbooks.
