A woman has been arrested on suspicion of embezzling more than $100,000 from a Placer County winery, the Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.
Cinda Lee Mendo-Woffenden, 40, of Sacramento worked as the bookkeeper for Wise Villa Winery from 2014 to 2017, where she issued fraudulent checks and reimbursements to herself, the Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post.
After she left the winery, employees also noticed a large amount of cash was missing from the winery bistro and its temporary kiosk in the Roseville Galleria.
Mendo-Woffenden was arrested last Thursday and is suspected of embezzling $102,000 during her employment. Her bail is set at $102,000.
