The woman who died in a drunken driving crash in Rancho Cordova on Wednesday night was identified as Daya Reddy, 55, the Sacramento County Coroner's Office said Thursday.
The crash happened sometime before 11:09 p.m. after the Rancho Cordova police responded to 911 calls reporting a "major vehicle collision" near International Drive and South White Rock Road, a Sacramento County Sheriff's Department news release said.
When officers arrived, they found two badly damaged cars and saw a man walking away from the crash. He was detained and identified as a 41-year-old Stockton resident, authorities said.
Officers also found Reddy, who was not breathing, inside one of the cars. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
