A man reportedly abducted in an armed robbery at a Davis apartment is safe, police say.
Davis officers said they spoke with family members of Amani Marquis Sandoval-Jones, 21, who confirmed the Sacramento man is safe. The Davis Police Department said in a news release Wednesday night that detectives have not yet contacted Sandoval-Jones and the investigation is still open.
The reported kidnapping occurred around 9 p.m. Tuesday, when Sandoval-Jones was in an apartment with three other occupants at 516 K St. and a man walked in brandishing a gun and demanding money, Davis police said.
When the men in the apartment said they didn't have any money, the robber pointed his gun at Marquis-Sandoval and ordered him to leave with him, police said.
