Officers closed a portion of 26th Street in midtown Friday morning to look for a man who they said might be armed with a knife, Sacramento police say.
The man may have assaulted someone, said Officer Linda Matthew, spokeswoman for the department. Police were also looking for any victims.
Officers closed 26th Street between Broadway and X Street, and were searching the alley. K-9 units were involved in the search.
The street reopened around 8:55 a.m. A California Highway Patrol officer at the scene said the suspect had not yet been found.
