An 18-year-old man has been arrested in the shooting death of a teenager who was found outside an Orangevale home late Sunday.
The victim was identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as Erik Glen Ozee, 16, of Citrus Heights.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department reported Monday afternoon that Mario Andreas Contreras had been arrested and booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail on suspicion of murder. He is being held without bail.
Detectives believe that the shooting was not a random act, according to a Sheriff’s Department news release. Although the victim did not live at the location where the shooting occurred, sheriff’s officials said it is unclear what the relationship was between Ozee and Contreras.
