Stockton man dies from gunshot wound suffered last month

A 19-year-old Stockton man shot two weeks ago died from his injuries Friday night and police are seeking information on his assailant.

Stockton police said Saturday that on May 21 at 1:23 a.m. officers were called to a home in the 2200 block of Scribner Street, where they found the man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital and later was able to return to his home.

On Friday night, however, officers were called back to the home where the victim “died from what appears to be complications from his injuries,” police said in a news release.

“When officers arrived, several people were uncooperative and we are encouraging anyone with information to come forward as the motive of this shooting is still unknown,” police said.

The victim’s name was not immediately released.

Police ask anyone with information to call the Stockton Police Department at (209) 937-8377 or the investigations unit at (209) 937-8323. Callers also may call Crime Stoppers at (209) 946-0600 and remain anonymous.
