Citrus Heights police will be conducting a DUI warrant sweep at undisclosed locations in the city this weekend.
The goal is to find and arrest individuals who have active warrants for DUI-related offenses, according to a Police Department news release. Officials say the warrant sweeps and stakeouts are needed to reduce the number of habitual offenders that drive within the city.
They warn motorists to use a designated driver, and not to drink and drive.
Funding for the warrant sweep is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
