Rocklin police arrested a man on suspicion of hitting a victim with a baton and pointing a gun at him earlier this month.
Police said that last Thursday officers took a report concerning a man being hit several times with a collapsible baton and having a weapon pointed at him in a threatening manner. The victim identified Sean Brian Gray, 29, as the man who assaulted him.
On Monday, detectives staked out a Rocklin motel room along Highway 80 where they believed Gray was staying. Just before noon, Gray and Eric M. Hudson-Broyer were seen leaving the room and putting something into a vehicle.
Both men were taken into custody. Hudson-Broyer was allegedly found in possession of a loaded firearm. A search of the motel room turned up evidence from the assault, according to a police press release.
