The Sacramento Fire Department extinguished an 8-acre grass fire Friday afternoon on the 2800 block of C Street.

Arson may have been the cause, said Kim Ianucci, a Sacramento Fire Department spokeswoman. A suspect was detained at the scene for questioning.

The two-alarm fire caused the closure of the Business 80 freeway from E Street to the Exposition Boulevard off ramp, a fire department dispatcher said.

There were no resulting injuries, said Battalion Chief Jonathan Williams. The fire dmaged an electrical pole and several rail road ties.
