Richard Eldredge, a theater arts teacher at Whitney High School, was arrested in December following a Rocklin police investigation into allegations that he texted a teen for sex or naked pictures.

He was arrested on suspicion of unlawful contact with a minor for unlawful sexual purposes, and the Rocklin Unified School District reported that the was placed on administrative leave.

The case in progressing through the court process. Placer County Superior Court online records indicate that Eldredge’s next court date is Aug. 6, for a status conference.

According to a story in The Bee, the 17-year-old female victim told officers that Eldredge on more than one occasion texted her for sex or naked photos. Police were alerted by someone who was mandated to report such incidents, but who was not associated with the high school.
