The body of a man in his 40s or 50s was recovered along the Sacramento River Monday morning.
A citizen discovered the body along the shoreline around 9 a.m. Monday and hailed a downtown Sacramento guide. Community service guides provide directions downtown and act as the “eyes and ears” of law enforcement.
The guide contacted authorities, prompting the arrival of Sacramento Fire Department personnel and Sacramento police.
The body was found just upstream from the I Street Bridge along the Sacramento side of the river. The Coroner’s Office responded and took control of the body.
