The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has released the names of the two motorcyclists killed Friday night in a collision with a vehicle.
Zackary Kirk, 23, of Roseville and Jason McQuay, 29, of Rio Linda died when they crashed into a Jeep Cherokee that was making a left turn in the Antelope area.
The collision occurred about 8:45 p.m. on Antelope Road near Watt Avenue. California Highway Patrol spokesman Officer Chad Hertzell said a 53-year-old woman in the Jeep was driving westbound on Antelope Road and was preparing to make a left turn into the Emerald Meadows Mobile Home Park as two motorcyclists approached eastbound on Antelope.
Hertzell said the motorcycles were traveling more than 80 mph and witnesses reported that one was doing wheelies. The driver of the Jeep misjudged the distance because the motorcycles were traveling so fast, Hertzell said, and started to make the left turn. The motorcycles struck the right side of the Jeep.
