A 14-year-old Rocklin High School student was arrested Wednesday for reportedly bringing a gun onto campus.
After the second day of classes concluded, it was reported to the school’s administration that “a handgun was brandished on campus,” wrote Skott Hutton, coordinator of family community engagement and strategic planning at Rocklin Unified School District, in an email.
The incident occurred approximately 15 minutes after classes let out and was reported to administration within the hour. The Rocklin Police Department was notified, leading to an investigation that led to the student’s arrest.
“We applaud students and parents coming forward with information regarding any safety issues on campus as well as the swift action by the Rocklin Police to identify and apprehend the offending student,” Hutton said. “Safety continues to be our top priority.”
