Two men who reportedly put a gun to a woman’s head as she held her infant during a May 2013 kidnapping and robbery have been convicted by a Sacramento County jury.
Dontae McFadden, 32, and Davonte Stinson, 22, on Tuesday were found guilty of kidnapping for robbery, first- and second-degree robbery and multiple counts of being felons in possession of a firearm. The jury also found that they personally used or were armed with a firearm during the crimes, according to a Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office news release.
In May 2013, McFadden and Stinson approached the first victim as he sat in his car making a phone call. McFadden pointed a gun at the victim’s head as Stinson ripped the phone out of his hand and took the victim’s keys and wallet, which contained his home address, authorities said.
The men then locked the victim in the trunk of his car and immediately went to his home. They used the keys to enter the apartment, where the victim’s fiance and small children were at the time. Authorities said Stinson put a gun to the woman’s head as she held her infant, while McFadden grabbed property from the residence. The two men then fled.
