A family of four was displaced by a fire that destroyed an Elk Grove home early Friday morning.
The house was “fully involved with fire” when crews responded to the blaze around 3 a.m. in the 8700 block of Crucero Drive, said Deputy Chief Michael McLaughlin of the Cosumnes Community Services District Fire Department.
“Fortunately, the occupants were already out of the house, so that allowed us to focus on knocking out the fire,” he said.
No damage estimate was available, but the property was “a total loss,” McLaughlin said. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
