Roseville police arrest man suspected in meat cleaver attack

Roseville police say a man used a meat cleaver to attack a relative in a bloodless assault.

Timothy McKown, 33, of Roseville was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats and carrying a concealed cleaver in connection with the alleged attack Monday morning at an apartment in the 1000 block of Woodcreek Oaks Boulevard.

Police said that a family argument escalated into a fistfight and that McKown struck the male relative on the arm with the meat cleaver and then ran away. Fortunately, the cleaver’s blade was dull and the victim only suffered bruising.

Officers later found McKown at the intersection of Main Street and Foothills Boulevard. He was booked into Placer County jail with his bail set at $80,000.
