The Galt Joint Union Elementary School District’s director of business services had been placed on administrative leave following his arrest Monday on suspicion of child molestation.

Scot Sutton, 47, of Placerville was arrested after the victim reported the incident to Placerville police on Sunday, according to a Police Department news release. Placerville police investigators found and arrested Sutton in Sacramento County on Monday and booked him into Sacramento County jail on suspicion of molesting a child younger than 14. He was booked into El Dorado County jail on Tuesday, according to an online roster of jail inmates.

Police said they do not believe there are any other victims.

Karen Schauer, superintendent of the Galt school district, said in a letter to parents Tuesday that Sutton was placed on administrative leave Monday.

“At this time, investigators do not believe there are any allegations regarding possible GJUESD students,” the letter said.

Sutton has worked for the Galt district for eight months.
