Residents can learn about the latest scams and how to avoid them during the seventh annual Yolo-Sacramento County Fraud Awareness Fair to be held Wednesday in West Sacramento.
State and local law enforcement agencies along with insurance and banking institutions will offer fraud prevention information, resources and training on how to avoid becoming a victim, according to a Yolo County District Attorney’s Office news release. Topics will include identity theft, contractor fraud and telephone scams, as well as other swindles and rip-offs.
The free event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the City Hall Galleria, 1110 West Capitol Ave. in West Sacramento.
