Sacramento police seek information about a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run collision Monday night that seriously injured a bicyclist.
Police responded to the area of Raley Boulevard near Ascot Avenue, south of Rio Linda, about 11 p.m. Police investigators learned that a 46-year-old bicyclist was traveling in the southbound lane of Raley Boulevard. The bicycle apparently did not have lights and was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle, according to a Police Department news release.
The bicyclist was taken by Sacramento fire personnel to an area hospital with head and internal injuries. A number of witnesses stopped to assist the bicyclist, but police would like to talk to additional witnesses or anyone with information regarding the vehicle involved in the crash.
