A worker at a strip club responding to a burglar alarm shot a man inside the business on Richards Boulevard, police said.

The shooting with serious injuries was reported at about 5 a.m. Wednesday at Club Fantasy, 851 Richards Blvd. The wounded man was transported to the hospital, where he was reported in critical condition.

Police said the worker was made aware of a possible intruder by a call from the business’s burglar alarm company. He went to the club, where he confronted a man in his 20s inside Club Fantasy, which is described on the strip club’s website as the home of the “hottest, exotic, erotic ladies in the Capitol City” and the top “gentlemen’s club in the city of Sacramento for 15 years.”

The worker fired shots at the suspected intruder, hitting him in the upper body.
