Teen wounded in Antelope shopping center shootout

A 17-year-old teen was injured Saturday evening during a shooting in an Antelope shopping center at Elverta and Walerga roads.

Authorities received about eight different calls from people at the scene, starting at 6:26 p.m. in the WinCo Foods parking lot, Sgt. Jason Ramos of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.

Two males in their late teens to early twenties walked out of Panda Express and got into an argument with three males about the same age in a grey BMW. They reportedly fired multiple rounds at each other.

“It is uncertain who fired first,” Ramos said.

The teenager who was injured was a passenger in the car and was shot once in his shoulder. His injury is not life-threatening.

No guns have been recovered and names have not yet been released.
