A woman was robbed Thursday afternoon as she loaded purchases into her car at a Natomas parking lot, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

The victim was placing merchandise from a shopping cart into her vehicle around 5 p.m. Thursday in the 3600 block of Truxel Road when a man driving what appeared to be a white hatchback pulled up. He ripped the woman’s purse off her shoulder and drove off.

The suspect was described as a white man in his 30s or 40s with a shaved head and wearing wire-rimmed glasses.

The man’s vehicle was filmed by security cameras in the area. It appears to be a white hatchback Chevrolet Sprint or a Geo Metro with black-tinted windows.

Sacramento police detectives are seeking the public’s help identifying the suspect or the vehicle. Contact the police dispatch center, 916-264-5471, with information.
