Roseville police say a tip from a city employee led to the arrest Monday afternoon of a man suspected of following and groping a middle-school student Friday as she was walking to school on the Linda Creek Trail.
Detectives arrested Quin Wilde Mack, 38, of Roseville on suspicion of sexual battery involving inappropriately touching the victim, and annoying or molesting a child. After being interviewed, police said, he will be booked into Placer County Jail with bail set at $30,000.
Police said detectives also will serve Mack with a notice excluding him from all Roseville park facilities and open space areas, including the city’s trail system, for a year, as allowed by ordinance. Police said a booking photo has not been released due to the ongoing investigation.
Police say the girl was groped on the Linda Creek trail between Oak Ridge and Charleston drives and then fled and immediately reported the encounter to officials at Warren T. Eich Middle School.
