A driver hit and killed a bicyclist during a passing maneuver in Sutter County, according the California Highway Patrol.
Driver Rajesh Wadhava, 42, of Yuba City, was driving southbound on rural Live Oak Boulevard near Morse Road between Live Oak and Yuba City about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when he veered left to go around the bicyclist.
Wadhava then saw traffic approaching so he veered back to the right and into the 55-year-old bicyclist from Salem, Ore., according to a CHP press release. The bicyclist, who has not been identified, later died from his injuries at a hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
