Proceeds from sales at Sacramento-area Dutch Bros. Coffee outlets Wednesday raised nearly $100,000 to support the families of two fallen sheriff's deputies.
Sacramento County Deputy Danny Oliver and Placer Deputy Michael Davis Jr. were shot last week. Marcelo Marquez has been charged in both killings. His wife, Janelle Monroy, is charged as a murder defendant in the death of Davis.
Facebook pages for Dutch Bros. outlets in the Sacramento region noted that an outpouring of support from coffee drinkers on Wednesday resulted in $96,597 being raised for the families of Oliver and Davis.
In addition to the day’s sales, donation buckets were placed at each location.
