A woman crossing Franklin Boulevard at Mack Road on a motorized scooter was killed this afternoon when she was struck by semi-truck and trailer.
Sacramento police spokesman Officer Justin Brown said the collision occurred shortly after 4 p.m. He said a woman in her 50s was traveling westbound on the scooter in a crosswalk when the driver of the westbound truck turned northbound onto Franklin, striking the scooter.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released pending notification of family.
Brown said the truck driver, a man in his 20s, stopped and was cooperating with investigators. He was not injured.

Brown said investigators were interviewing witnesses at the scene.
The intersection is expected to remain closed through most of the evening, and police advise motorists to use alternate routes.
