A 47-year-old man was arrested Friday morning after he was accused of chasing and threatening a woman walking along the American Rive bike trail near California State University, Sacramento.

A Sacramento State police officer responded to a call for assistance from the Sacramento Police Department, and learned that a woman walking on the bike trail was suddenly chased by a man who was screaming at her and threatening to kill her, according to a Sacramento State Police Department news release. The woman was able to run to a nearby area where a construction crew was working, and the man then left on foot, heading toward University Avenue.
