The burned body of a man was found in a parking lot in an Auburn-area regional park on Tuesday.
An employee at Hidden Falls Regional Park arrived to unlock a gate at a parking lot around 6 a.m. Tuesday and noticed the body. The employee saw the man had been burned to death, according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.
The body, found near a well-used trail head, has not been identified.
“Per our protocol, we are treating it as a homicide, along with the coroner’s division, until there is reason not to,” said sheriff’s Sgt. Nelson Resendes.
