A young man from Elverta was shot to death late Monday in Sacramento.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified him as Anthony Greer, 21, of Elverta. Another man was wounded.
Sacramento police said the men were shot around 10:55 p.m. Monday near an apartment in the 2300 block of Laramie Lane, which is near El Camino and Howe avenues.
Officers found Greer with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Sacramento Fire Department medical personnel took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:34 p.m. Monday.

Detectives believe the attackers shot Greer and the other man as they stood near the apartment. The attackers then fled.
The wounded man, who is in his late teens, was expected to survive.
Detectives said the shooting was not random and would not rule out a gang connection, according to a police news release.
