A 20-year-old man found dead at a fraternity house near UC Berkeley on Sunday was a student at UC Davis.
Julia Ann Easley, a spokeswoman for UC Davis, said university records show Vaibhev Loomba was a math major from Antioch. He attended Los Medanos College in Pittsburg, in Contra Costa County, before entering UC Davis in October.
The Associated Press reported that Loomba was found unresponsive in the Zeta Psi fraternity house. Berkeley police spokeswoman Jennifer Coats said police are calling the death “suspicious” but there is no indication of foul play.
She said an autopsy was performed Monday and toxicology tests were ordered to determine whether Loomba had drugs or alcohol in his system. Those tests won’t be available for at least four weeks.
