A man and a dog were killed in a recreational vehicle fire Saturday evening on Stockton Boulevard, Sacramento Fire Department officials said.
The fire was reported at 6:05 p.m. in an RV lot in the the 6100 block of Stockton Boulevard, said Chris Harvey, Fire Department spokesman.
When fire crews arrived, they forced open an RV and found a male victim and his dog inside, he said.
Attempts to resuscitate the man and dog were unsuccessful. The fire was quickly contained and did not spread to other vehicles, Harvey said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
