Police have released sketches of two men believed to have attacked Airman Spencer Stone in a midtown Sacramento stabbing that left him hospitalized for more than a week.
The sketches are based on interviews with witnesses and surveillance video, the Sacramento Police Department said in a news release Saturday. The assailants are described as “Asian or Filipino” and were wearing blue jeans and white shirts at the time of the attack.
Department spokesman Traci Trapani said she did not know if Stone contributed to the description of the suspects.
Stone was released Thursday from UC Davis Medical Center, where he underwent open-heart surgery. He was stabbed four times in an attack that punctured his heart, liver and a lung.

Stone and two childhood friends from Sacramento – Alek Skarlatos and Anthony Sadler – became celebrities in August when they tackled and disarmed a gunman on a French train.
Stone was stabbed during a wild melee early Oct. 8 near the Badlands nightclub at 20th and K streets. Earlier, Stone and friends had attended the nightclub, where he was applauded by patrons.
The suspects were seen leaving in a late-model Toyota Camry.
