The person who died after he lay down on the tracks in front of an eastbound light-rail train in Rancho Cordova on Tuesday was a teenager.
He was identified by the Sacramento County Coroner as Craig Austin Taylor, 16, of Sacramento. Taylor is the second teen to die on the tracks in Rancho Cordova in a week.
Video surveillance footage from the train that hit the teen showed him lying down in the tracks east of the Mather Field Station before impact, according to Regional Transit spokeswoman Alane Masui.
Last week, Mariah Burgess, 15, was killed at Coloma Road and Folsom Boulevard. Masui said witnesses reported that Burgess walked into the path of an eastbound train Thursday afternoon.

Masui said witness accounts and surveillance video indicated that warning lights and bells were activated and the train operator sounded the horn. She said witnesses reported that the girl appeared to be using earbud headphones and may have been distracted.
