A man who was hit when he entered into traffic during the evening commute last week on the Highway 50 in Rancho Cordova has been identified by the coroner.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s website lists him as Broderick Jackson, 24, of Rancho Cordova.
The California Highway Patrol said that at about 5:15 p.m. Friday Jackson ran from the south shoulder of eastbound Highway 50 directly in front of a sport utility vehicle. The driver of the SUV immediately pulled to the side of the highway and called 911.
A CHP press release said officers had no explanation for Jackson’s run into traffic lanes.
