Q: Was there ever an arrest made for the double homicide on May 27, 2013 in the 4400 block of Oakhollow Drive in Foothill Farms?

A: Two people were arrested in connection with the shooting deaths of Roxanne Mason, 24, and Benjamin Taylor, 43, on Memorial Day in 2013.

According to a story in The Sacramento Bee, the two were found dead about 1:30 p.m. in an entryway at the Arbor Ridge apartment complex on Oakhollow Drive in Foothill Farms. Residents reported hearing an argument before shots rang out.

Sacramento County sheriff’s detectives arrested Orione Chrishone Brown in June 2013. Justin Kadell Kennedy was taken into custody a few months later, in October.

According to Sacramento Superior Court online records, they initially were charged with murder and attempted robbery but pleaded no contest in 2014 to voluntary manslaughter.

Brown, now 32 years old, was sentenced to five years in prison and is at Ironwood State Prison in Blythe. Kennedy, 31, was sentenced to six years in prison and is at the California Correctional Facility in Delano.
