El Dorado County sheriff’s officials are investigating a home-invasion robbery reported early Saturday morning in the Mount Aukum area.
Deputies responded to a residence in the 3000 block of Winter Creek Road after receiving a phone call from a man who said his wife was home alone when the robbery occurred. Mount Aukum is a tiny berg east of Highway 49 and nearly a 20-mile drive south of Placerville.
The woman told deputies that she was in bed when a man walked into her bedroom, pointed a handgun at her, and demanded marijuana and money, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. When the gunman found the marijuana, he directed the woman to go into the living room, where she was bound by the gunman and a male accomplice. While she was tied up, the woman noticed a third person in her house, sheriff’s officials said.
After the intruders left, the woman, who was not physically harmed, was able to free herself and call her husband.
