Sacramento County sheriff’s detectives have arrested a man suspected of killing an acquaintance whose body was discovered last month in a field near Sacramento International Airport.
The body of Matthew Caquelin, 26, of Sacramento was spotted about 7:15 a.m. Nov. 25 by a work crew driving by a field near West Elverta Road, east of Metro Air Parkway.
Caquelin was shot in the torso.
Detectives on Wednesday arrested Scot Sequeira, 28, of Sacramento in Newman, a town in Stanislaus County. Homicide detectives believe the two men knew each other, but it is not known why they were in the rural part of Sacramento County where Caquelin’s body was found during the time of the homicide.
