The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of a telephone scam involving an individual posing as a sheriff’s office employee.
The caller identifies himself a Lt. Michael Braton and tells residents they have an emergency and must return his call, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. The phone number the caller uses is (530) 215-5271.
Residents who receive a such a call are advised to call their local police department’s non-emergency line to report the incident.
