A 34-year-old Sacramentan faces murder charges after deputies found a man’s body in a Sacramento area apartment, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.

James Lee Hill was arrested Thursday evening during a vehicle stop in Vallejo and taken to Sacramento County Main Jail, according to a department news release. Hill, who is ineligible for bail, is to be arraigned Tuesday, the release said.

His arrest came after officials received an anonymous 911 call Thursday at 10 a.m. regarding a male victim in an apartment in the 4900 block of Little Oak Lane, just north of American River College.

Sheriff’s deputies found a 32-year-old man lying on the floor. Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District officials pronounced the victim dead at the scene. No one else was in the apartment when deputies arrived.

Sheriff’s officials said there were no obvious signs of trauma, but an investigation “showed there was a physical assault earlier in the day with the suspect, which caused the death of the victim,” the release said.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
