An 18-year-old man suffered minor injuries Tuesday afternoon when he was robbed in downtown Sacramento by a man armed with a knife.
The incident occurred at 4:35 p.m. in the area of Fourth and R streets. The 18-year-old was approached by a man with a knife, who took his bicycle and other personal items, said Sgt. Bryce Heinlein, Sacramento police spokesman.
The victim ran after the robber, chasing him to Fourth Street, but the man rode off on the bike, heading east on R Street, Heinlein said.
The robber was described as black, in his late 20s, tall and wearing a dark-colored jacket and pants.

Heinlein said the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, and he was taken to an area hospital as a precaution.
