A young man was found dead in a house with a large number of marijuana plants in south Sacramento.
Sacramento police officers were dispatched to a home in the 7500 block of Mandy Drive about 8 p.m. Monday for a call about a burglary in which a man had been found inside the house. The man was not responsive, according to the caller.
When officers arrived, they found a man in his 20s on the floor. He had suffered trauma to his upper body and was declared dead at the scene by Sacramento Fire Department medical personnel.
A sweep of the house to assure officers there were no more victims and to look for a perpetrator resulted in finding a large, sophisticated marijuana growing operation, according to a Sacramento police news release.
