A Nevada woman’s body was found partially buried in snow over the weekend in El Dorado County.
The body of Zephyr Cove resident Carolyn Batchelor, 69, was found Saturday by search and rescue personnel near Inspiration Point at Emerald Bay. Her death is not considered suspicious and the cause of her demise is under investigation.
The Douglas County, Nevada, Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into Batchelor’s disappearance on Feb. 17. Two days later the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office received a report that her vehicle, covered by a foot of snow, was found at Inspiration Point.
Beginning on Feb. 20, search and rescue crews scoured the area trying to find Batchelor. The week-long search was conducted in steep and rugged terrain covered by a foot or two of fresh snow.
