A man died in a head-on collision Sunday night on Main Avenue in Rio Linda after losing control of his vehicle, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

The man, who was in his mid-30s, was reportedly driving westbound approaching Kelton Way, when his vehicle crossed over a median and hit a sedan in the eastbound lane, said Sacramento police Sgt. Justin Brown.

Police did not identify the driver who died in the head-on collision. The driver of the sedan that was hit was injured but survived the accident.

Neither alcohol nor rainy conditions are believed to have caused the collision, Brown said.
