One driver was killed and another suffered major injuries Tuesday morning along South River Road in Yolo County.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the head-on collision occurred about 7:31 a.m. in the 32250 block of South River Road between West Sacramento and Clarksburg.
A 34-year-old man from Woodland was driving his 2000 Honda Civic southbound south of Babel Slough Road when his vehicle crossed the double yellow center lines into the northbound traffic lane. The Honda struck the front end of a northbound 2003 Chevrolet pickup that was traveling abut 45 mph and driven by Bret Kimbro, 55, of Elk Grove, according to a CHP news release.
The Honda driver suffered fatal injuries in the collision. His name has not been released pending notification of family.

The CHP reported that Kimbro suffered major injuries in the crash.
Based on a preliminary investigation, CHP officials said, neither drugs nor alcohol appear to have been a factor in the collision.
The crash blocked lanes as officers conducted an investigation and coroner’s officials arrived to transport the body.
