A crash between a bicycle and car on French Road in south Sacramento resulted in the death of a 25-year-old bicyclist on Wednesday night.
Motorist Zamesha Dominique, 28, of Sacramento crashed into Justin Knorr, also of Sacramento, as he tried to make a right turn onto French Road, according to a California Highway Patrol press release. No arrests were made, the CHP said.
According to the release, Knorr was riding his bicycle from a driveway east of French Road, north of Ocatillo Street. It appeared that Knorr tried to make a right turn onto French Road, but was not traveling fast enough to safely make the turn. As he made the turn, Knorr put his bicycle directly in the path of Dominique’s vehicle, which was travelling north.
Dominique was unable to avoid hitting Knorr, sending the bicyclist to the pavement.
