A motor vehicle spotted late Monday morning in a slough near Courtland has been determined to be unoccupied, according to the Cosumnes Fire Department.
Fire officials said that the California Highway Patrol reported that the recovered vehicle had been stolen in Elk Grove.
Just prior to noon, Cosumnes officials and other rescue agencies responded to a report that a motor vehicle was partially submerged in a slough near Lambert Road. A 12:15 p.m. officials said the passenger cabin of the vehicle “appears to be all clear.” Teams then accessed the trunk area.
Officials said no one was found in the vehicle.
